ハイビスカス（2） Hibiscus（2）

繊細極まりないハイビスカス。こんなのは見たこともありませんでした。
I have never seen such delicate and elegant hibiscus.

ピンクと赤の中間色のハイビスカス。
It is an intermediate color, red and pink.

大輪のハイビスカス。私がハイビスカスの写真を撮っているのを見た人が、ここにもこんなのがあるよと教えてくれます。

Large hibiscus. A certain person who saw me taking photos of hibiscus taught me "there is such hibiscus over there."

ヒロの夕焼け Sunset at Hilo

ハワイは夕陽がきれいなので有名ですが、ハワイ島では西側のコナの夕陽がレストランで夕食を食べながら楽しめるので人気です。晴天が多い場所なのであまり見られないことはありません。
The Hawaii islands are very famous about beautiful sunset. In the Big Island sunset of Kona, western side of the island, is very popular because we can enjoy it with dinner.

そして、マウナ･ケアの山頂から見る夕日。時間になるとたくさんのツアーのバスが集まります。
And sunset from the summit of Mauna Kea. Many sunset-seeing vans gather at twilight time.

ヒロ側は太陽が山に沈み雨が多いこともあってなかなか見られませんが、時にこのようなすごい夕陽を見ることができます。
Hilo has many rain and sun sinks over the mountain so we cannot see beautiful sunset every day. But occasionally we can see such sun's evening glow.

マウナ･ケアの山頂で、天文台がシルエットで見えています。
Back ground is the summit of Mauna Kea. Astronomical Observatories was silhouetted against the purple sky.

シルエットになっている木は、ノーフォーク松で、外来種ですが独特の雰囲気をかもし出しています。
These trees are pine of Norfolk. They are introduced species but they create some kind of unique air.

電線の間に見えているのはマウナ･ロアの稜線です。これほど私を魅せる山はありません。

Skyline of Mauna Loa is seen between electric wires. I am always fascinated by this mountain.

ヌーディスト･ビーチ（2） Beach used by nudists(2)

久しぶりにこのビーチに来てみました。エデンの園を謳歌している人が相変わらずたくさんいました。
しかし、前回には見なかったトップ･レスの女性も多く見受けました。
リンゴを食べると「二人の目が開け、自分たちの裸であることがわかったので、イチジクの葉をつづり合わせて、腰に巻いた。」 （旧約聖書　創世記第三章ー７）
After a long time I visited this beach. So many people enjoyed this Garden of Eden as before.
But also I saw many ladies wear top-less,not naked, I did not see before.
"As soon as they had eaten it (apple), they were  given  understanding and realized that they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and covered themselves." (The Old Testament  Genesis chapter 3, verse 7)

白く泡立つ波間にたたずむ裸体のなんと美しいことでしょう。
What a charming naked woman standing in white frothy waves.

黒い岩、透き通った水を背景に彼女の裸体は息をのむほど美しく感じました。

Her naked body, stand against the black rock and clear water, took my breath away.



こちらは、母娘。なぜか子供のほうが水着の上下をちゃんと着ているのが不思議でした。
This is a mother and child. The child wore a bathing suit, top and bottom. I feel little bit strange.

大地震と津波（4） tremendous earthquake and tidal wave(tsunami)（4）

カイルア･コナのメインストリート、アリイ・ドライブの様子です。（ハワイ島のヘラルドトリビューンより）
It is the picture of Alii Drive, main street of Kailua-Kona, attacked by Tsunami. (from the Herald Tribune of Hawaii)

これもヘラルド･トリビューンからの写真です。6500キロも離れた場所で起こった津波でもこんなに威力があるのに驚かされます。
It is also the picture from Herald Tribune. It shows tremendous power of tsunami, though its origin was 6500km far from the Big Island.

そしてショックだったのは、「フォレスト・ガンプ」をテーマにしたレストラン「ババ・ガンプ」がやられている写真です。
戦死した戦友ババとの約束どおり海老の漁船で漁をする場面からとった、海老料理の店です。値段も安くおいしいのでお勧めのレストランです。まあこの程度の被害ではすぐ立ち直ると思います。場所はアリイ・ドライブに入ってほどなくで、聞けばすぐ分かると思います。
The picture of the restaurant "Bubba Gump", based on the movie "Forrest Gump", suffered by tsunami gave me a great shock, because I love it very much. But I think it will recover soon from such slight damage. 
May be you remember the scene Forrest is fishing shrimp to keep promise with the late war buddy,Babba, Shrimp restaurant "Bubba Gamp" named after this. I recommend it because delicious and reasonable price.

「走れフォレスト」は何度か出てくる重要なテーマですが、このレストランでは、この表示を出しているときは、ウェートレスに用はないというメッセージで、これをめくると「止まれフォレスト」という表示になり、ウェートレスが用を聞いてくれます。
すぐそこが海という絶好の場所にあるだけに津波にやられたのでしょう。
"Run Forrest Run" is the important theme of this picture and it appears several times. In this restaurant it means "I don't have any request  particular"
Turn up this the message changes to "Stop Forrest Stop" If you show this waiter will ask your request.
This restaurant is very good situation, just beside sea shore, so it was stricken by the tsunami.

亀は噛まない Turtle dose not bite

コンドーの横のジェームス・ケアロハ公園にはこんなきれいな入り江があります。
The James Kealoha Park, just beside my apartment, has such charming lagoon.

そして、こんな看板が。ハワイ固有のアオウミガメは絶滅危惧種で、保護されています。甲羅干しをしている亀に近づいてかまうと罰金が科せられます。
This board says " Greed turtles are native to Hawaii and a Threatened Species protected by law. Don't approach and disturb basking turtles if you do so fines can be imposed"

ここから少し先の海岸では、亀は噛みつくとの警告がありました。それで恐る恐る近づいて写真を撮ったのですが（ラベル=生物　亀は噛みつく　参照）この子達はそんな警戒は全くしていません。
At another beach there was a warning " Turtle can bite" so I cautiously approached them and took pictures. (see Ravel=Life, title turtle can bite") But these children had no caution against that.

亀に近づくと罰金と書かれていますが、ここでは、亀が遊んでと寄ってきます。なお、この写真を取ったのは2月の下旬です。
If we approach the turtles fines are imposed but here turtles approach us as if they say "let's play".
I took them at the last few days of Feb. we got lot of snow one week later in Tokyo and big earthquake 12 days later.

こっちでも亀が遊びに来ています。これがアオウミガメ、前のはタイマイで種類が違うかもしれません。 この女子が、亀は草を食べるの知っているかと聞いてきました。海草を食べるのは看板に
書いてありましたから知っていますが、草を食べるなんて知るわけがありません。
Turtle also came another place and it is a Green Turtle, former is a Horkbill Turtle, I think. This girl asked me "Do you know the turtle eat grass, don't you?" "Of course not!" I knew they ate seaweed because the board teach us, but I could not know that they ate grass.

見せてあげるといって草をとってきました。本当においしそうに食べました。でもどこかの看板に餌をやってはいけないと書いてあったような、なかったような。いずれにしてもなんと自然が一杯な場所なんでしょう。
"I'll show you"  She took some grass and gave it to hem. Turtle ate them with great relish. I'm not sure to see the board anywhere "Don't feed turtle" . Anyway what a plenty of nature there are!

大地震と津波（3） tremendous earthquake and tidal wave(tsunami)（3）

2006年12月のスマトラ沖地震の津波です。（読売新聞）必死に逃げている人と向かっていっている人がいます。約22万人の死者が出ましたのでこれらの人の運命も楽観は許されません。 すごい写真だとどきもを抜かれました。
This is a photo of Tsunami by Off Sumatra Earthquake,Dec.2006.(Yomiuri) There are people who was escaping in desperation and one lady was going to the wave. 220,000 people were killed by these tsunami in Asia, so it is difficult to think these people in this photo escaped safely. 
When I looked this Photo I was astonished very much, "what a dreadful photo it is! "

今回の津波です。ものすごいパワーを感じます。(ニューヨークタイムズ)

2004年11月の のインド洋の津波です。津波が寄せてきている写真はあまりなかっただけに、これもすごい写真でした。（太平洋災害センター）

2010年3月、マグニチュード8.8のチリ地震で起きた津波が日本を襲いました。宮城県気仙沼の様子です。（ジャパン・タイムズ）この時の津波を千葉で写真に撮りこのブログに載せましたが、今回のいろいろな写真と比べるとお恥ずかしいようなものでした。（ラベル＝津波、津波を見たを参照）
From the Tsunami of Chile earthquake, M8.8, hit Japan Mar. 2010. It is photo at Kesennuma Miyagi Prefecture. (Japan Times) I took photos of this tsunami at Chiba Prefecture and posted of this Blog (see Ravel=Tidal Wave, Tidal Wave)
But now I ashamed those compare with many pictures of this time.

今回の気仙沼の様子です。（ニューヨークタイムズより）比較にも何もなりません。
A scean of Kesennuma this time.(from New York Times) Formar one cannot compare with this.

ジェームス・ケアロハ公園 James Kealoha Beach Park

私のコンドーの隣は、小さなしかしとても美しい公園です。この写真は屋根の上から撮ったものです。 冬の間は沖で鯨が潮を吹くのがみえます。(あまり好い写真ではありませんがかすかに見えると思います。）
Beside my apartment there is a little but very charming park named James Kealoha Beach Park. This is taken from the roof of the apartment. We can see whales are blowing offshore in winter season. ( It is not a good photo, but  you can see the blow slightly. )

これは公園の向こう側から取ったもので、コンドーが写っています。
This is taken from opposite side of the park. You can see the apartment.

公園の中には湧き水の池があります。右側の小屋にはバーベキューセットがおいてあり、 休日には人が集まって楽しんでいます。ただし、アルコールは一切ダメ。ふんだんに牛肉を焼いてこの雰囲気の中でビールを飲んだらさぞおいしいだろうと思うのは私だけでしょうか。
There is a pond of spring of fresh water. In the right side cabin there are BBQ sets and many people enjoy BBQ on holiday. But alcohol beverage are prohibited. I'm always thinking that it must be paradise if I can drink beer with plenty of beef in this splendid atmosphere.

小さな島があり、わずかながら砂浜があります。
There is a small island and it has small sand beach.

パパイヤがたわわに実っている木も。でも取る人はあまりいません。なにしろ五つ一ドルで買え
るのですから。
There are trees with many papayas,but no one take them because we can buy them $1 for 5 or 6.

ライフガードはこんなお兄さん。おっそろしいみてくれですが、話しかけてみると気さくな人で、自慢の刺青の写真を何枚も撮らせてくれました。広島から来た日本人移民の子孫で、日本語はほとんど話しません。
He is a life-guard. He looks like very terrible in Japanese sense. But when I spoke to him he was very friendly and allowed to take many pictures of his proud tattoo.
He is a Japanese Hawaiian of 4 or 5 Th generations came from Hiroshima but he did not speak Japanese at all.
