ｸﾞﾘｰﾝｻﾝﾄﾞ・ビーチ Greensand Beach

 

いつもレンタカーはエコノミーサイズを借ります。一週間で、＄270ぐらいです。ところが今回店のスッタフが、このサイズが出払ってしまったので、ジープでどうでしょうと言ってきました。もちろん、料金は上がりません。しぶしぶのような顔をして、喜んで申し出に応じました。これがその車で、まともに借りると一週間で＄500ほどかかります。
Usually I borrow a economy size lent a car, it cost $270 for a week. But this time a staff of Lent-a-Car shop said, "You cannot available this size that you reserved, do you mind to borrow a Jeep. Of course fee is same as economy size" I agreed as if unwillingly. If I reserved this car, I had to pay $500.

 

 マンションに着いたのが、午後一時で、私のパーキングの場所がこの状態でした。午前10時にそばの樹が倒れたとのことです。管理人さんが一生懸命かたずけていました。もし車があったら管理組合が保障しなければならなかったでしょう。
I arrived my apartment at 1p.m., my parking lot was such condition. The manger of this apartment, he is a good friend of mine and was disposing them, said tree fell down at 10 a.m. by strong wind.
If my car was there the community union must pay for the damage.

せっかく4ＷＤが使えるので、グリーンサントﾞ・ビーチに行こうと思いました。歩くと炎天下の下を1時間半はかかりますし、普通の車ではいけません。ビーチに向かうといきなりこの悪路というより道がありません。 後ろから来ていたジープもＵターンして帰っていきました。
I could use 4WD Jeep so I intended to go Green Sand Beach, cannot approach there by ordinary car and it takes one hour half on foot.
But beginning of the trail was no road rather than rough road, the other Jeep following me turned back.

どうにかなるだろうと前進してみると、しばらくして溶岩台地からダート平原に変わり轍が見えてきました。ほっとしたのもつかの間高い段差を超えなくてはなりません。
I hesitated but trusting to God I went ahead, after a short time, from lava plateau I went into dirt field so I could see wheel tracks. I felt relieved but soon I had to cross high steps.

しかも轍が分岐して、幾通りもの道ができています。一つを選んでいくと、どっこい深い穴に突き当たりそれ以上は進めません。行ったり来たりを繰り返しました。
So many rout were carved some one was dead-end at the deep ditch. I repeated back and forth, try and error.

そこにツアー客を乗せたトラックが通りかかりました。しめたとばかり後をついていきました。
Fortunately tour track was passed by, so I followed it.

少々砂埃を浴びますが物の数ではありません。トラックがいけるところはジープは大丈夫と安心してついていきますが、距離を離されました。
I did not care dust fell all over me. Jeep is more powerful than truck but it was faster than mine.

ついにグリーン・サンドビーチに着きました。高い崖の下にあります。
At last I reached Green Sand Beach beneath a high cliff.

両側を崖に囲まれた湾になっています。
It is a bay surrounded by cliff.

崖の色と比べると確かに緑色です。
Sand is green compare the color of cliff.

これはハワイ特産の橄欖岩の砂です。昔は小指の頭大の石が取れてアクセサリーで売っていたのですが、今はほとんどなくなったそうです。
ここまで、行きは30分帰りはトラックの後について20分で帰りました。
Green sand is a powder of Olivine stone, special product of Hawaii. Once there ware many stones the little finger head size and made accessory but now none.
I came here 30minutes and came back 20minutes following tour track.

ヌーディスト･ビーチ（2） Beach used by nudists(2)

久しぶりにこのビーチに来てみました。エデンの園を謳歌している人が相変わらずたくさんいました。
しかし、前回には見なかったトップ･レスの女性も多く見受けました。
リンゴを食べると「二人の目が開け、自分たちの裸であることがわかったので、イチジクの葉をつづり合わせて、腰に巻いた。」 （旧約聖書　創世記第三章ー７）
After a long time I visited this beach. So many people enjoyed this Garden of Eden as before.
But also I saw many ladies wear top-less,not naked, I did not see before.
"As soon as they had eaten it (apple), they were  given  understanding and realized that they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and covered themselves." (The Old Testament  Genesis chapter 3, verse 7)

白く泡立つ波間にたたずむ裸体のなんと美しいことでしょう。
What a charming naked woman standing in white frothy waves.

黒い岩、透き通った水を背景に彼女の裸体は息をのむほど美しく感じました。

Her naked body, stand against the black rock and clear water, took my breath away.



こちらは、母娘。なぜか子供のほうが水着の上下をちゃんと着ているのが不思議でした。
This is a mother and child. The child wore a bathing suit, top and bottom. I feel little bit strange.

サウス･ポイント South Point

ハイウェイからアメリカ最南端、サウス･ポイントに行く10ｍｌの道に入ると広大な牧場。貧しい牧草をつまらなそうに牛が食べていました。
From Highway 11, it is about 10ml to South Point. Many cows were grazing in the large pasture. Grass is very poor because of little rain. As if they said life is very trivial.



いつも一定方向から吹く強風を象徴する風景と風力発電機。
This tree and wind power generator are the symbol of strong and same direction wind.

アメリカはこんな高い崖で終わっています。ここは自殺の名所とか。

South end of America is such high cliff. It is also famous place of suicide.

今日も目の前で一人飛び込み自殺を図りました。彼は初めて飛び込むのか随分ためらっていましたが、カメラを向けると勇を鼓して飛び込みました。　

This time one man attempted suicide, at first he hesitated to jump but I pointed my camera at that man, he was encouraged and jumped into the sea.

もちろん冗談。少年がダイビングして遊んでいるのです。また登ってくるためのロープとはしごがあります。

Of course, I'm just kidding. The boy was playing diving. There is a rope and radder to clime back.

帰りに車がパンク、十年何年ぶりかでパンク修理。何しろここはﾚﾝﾀｶｰ走行禁止になっている様な何もない悪路。

On the way back my car was flat tire, so I had to change it. It is my first time in ten years or more. This road is paved but very bad and no gas station or shop. The rent-a-car is prohibited to drive this road.

プナルウの黒砂海岸2 Black Sand Beach at Punaluu 2

小学生の孫娘を初めて連れてきました。必ず砂浜で休んでいる亀がいるので、彼女にすぐ近くから見れるよ、でも触っちゃダメだよなどと話しながら来ましたが、なんと一匹もいません。二人でがっかりしてしまいました。

I came this black sand beach with my granddaughter, elementally school. She was first time to visit here. I told her "You can see turtle very close but don't touch them." Every time I visited here, turtles rested on the beach, so I told her this with confidence. But no turtle was on the beach. We were disappointed very much.

しばらくすると、「あっ!上がってくるよ」と孫が気がつきました。もう帰ろうとしていた矢先でした。

Just we were going to another place, she shouted "It comes up"

ちょっと歩いては、しばらく休み、また歩いては休むといった具合です。人間がいるので警戒しているのでしょうか。

He walked few steps (fins?), and stopped long time. Was he cautious about human?

いいえ、違います。彼（彼女?）は、カメラを構えた人の列のほうにまっすぐ上がってきます。全然怖がりません。人間のほうが後ずさりします。なぜなら・・・

No! He(She?) was not afraid but came up straight to the people who wanted to take picture of him. When he came closer people stepped back, BECAUSE......!

写真を撮るときも亀から18フィート離れろという指示があるためです。ですから亀が近づくと人間が後ずさりということになります。

The rule is posted. Stay 18feet away include taking picture. So turtle came people step back.

なお、黄色の看板は、モンクアザラシに近づくなという指示です。絶滅危惧種です。私は見たことがありません。見た人は電話をくれとも書いてありますので来るのは珍しいのでしょう。　噛み付かれて大怪我をするぞとも書いてあります。なにしろ2m,200kgもあるそうですから。

Yellow plate is the indication. Don't approach Monk Seals. They are endanger spices. I have never seen them. It is writen when you see it please call. It might be rare to meet them.

Also writen that it may bite and can cause serious injury. Yes, it is very big, about 2m length and 200kg weight.

日本語の看板が出ているのは、よほど日本人がよく来るのか、それとも日本人はすぐ触ったりするためだからでしょうか。でもちょっとおかしいのは英語では、18フィート（5.4m),　日本語では、4.5ｍになっています。なぜ日本人は1mほど近くまでいけるのでしょうか。と考え込んでいると、

This postage is written in Japanese also. May be so many Japaneses visit this beach or they often touch turtles.
But it is strange, English says, stay 18feet(5.4m) away, Japanese says 4.5m. Why Japanese can approach about 1m more.

こちらの看板では、15フィート、4.5mになっていて、単なる間違えだということが分かりました。

Another postage says 15feet(4.5m) so I can understand that is only mistake.

プナルウ黒砂海岸 Black Sand Beach at Punaluu

キラウエアから雄大なマウナ･ロアを右手に見ながら、南に約40Kmのところに、プナルウ黒砂海岸に入る道があります。車で海岸まで行ける便利できれいな黒砂海岸で、行くたびに亀が甲羅を干しています。
About 40 Km south, comfortable down hill highway looking magnificent land scape of Mauna Loa on the right, there is a road to Punaluu Black Sand Beach. It is very easy access beach by car and every time I have been there turtles were on the sand and were basking in the sun.


亀に2m（5m?）より近づいてはいけないという看板があり、皆それを守って遠巻きに写真を撮っています。亀のほうは安心しきって、馬鹿にしたような表情で人間を完全に無視。（この写真は望遠を使っている。）
There is warning board,"don't step within 2m from turtles" Everybody keep this rule and take picture from outside of that circle.( I used telephoto lens) Turtles also know this rule so they are not scared but look down on people.

椰子の林の裏に、淡水の池があります。そこには、こんな変な（ひどい）顔をした鳥が（ロシアン・グース？）、それでも誇り高い態度で闊歩しています。
この海岸から、沖に30Kmのところに、海底火山が活動しています。ロイヒと名づけられ、ハワイ島の次の見所または新しい島になるかもしれないと期待されてますが、現在海面下1000mでまだ10万年以上かかりそうです。
Back of the Coconuts grove there is a pond of fresh water. Such strange(bad) faced birds work around proudly. (Russian Goose?)

The new volcano is actve in the sea from 30km off of this shore, named Loihi, is expecting new view point or new island. But it erupting 1000m below of surface, so it would be another 100,000 year to appear on the sea of it's beautiful figure.
