When I visited Punalu'u black sand beach, I heard sound of falling coconuts. To see the direction a man climbed up a tall palm tree and cut off dead frond and coconuts. I took picture in a flurry, but it came out badly, only feet in the picture, as it was so far. (this picture is trimmed very big)
I went back to my car to take telephoto lens and set it camera, but it was too late, he had already climbed down the tree.
Timidly I asked to him to take his pictures, he kindly accepted and made such pose for a pictures.
And I also asked him how to climb such high trees, he taught me that he ties his body and trunk with this belt loosely and take spike shoes and creep up his body by using hands and feet.
It is a same way some one taught me and I wrote it previous blog. ( but I forgot to aske him he is Samoan or not.) Somehow, I took his face mainly not his tools. Anyway he was very friendly so I liked him very much.
